I’ve shared recently how I maintain a healthy outlook. (Catch it here if you missed it) Not only is creating a daily routine essential for my mental, emotional and spiritual well-being, it’s also crucial for maintaining a balance with my business. Writing that article got me thinking about the importance of living in the flow of life. What is the flow? We are surrounded by creation energy that wants to nurture us and help us achieve our potential. The creation energy is the FLOW. When we are thriving in this nurtured and creative environment, we have a feeling of safety and security in all things. When all is going well, we are “in the flow”. In order to live an authentic, fulfilled life we need to feel supported and trust in that support. How we perceive that support is directly connected to the emotions and beliefs going on inside of us and what's going on around us. Because of the link with emotions and trust, it’s very easy to get into the flow or get out of it. Signs the universe has your back You are grateful for what you have (not what you don’t have). Your intentions and prayers manifest quicker and easier. Your intuition is stronger and you listen to that inner guidance and follow any sign and synchronicity. Unexpected things just show up in the form of people, connections, messages, signs and opportunities. Your thoughts of worry are replaced with optimism. Signs you’re out of the flow You are tired and/or wired. You may feel out of sorts, restless, or unwell. Things just don’t sync. Communication is difficult. Opportunities don’t work out - plans fall through or you miss the signs and synchronicities. You have a lot more worry, doubt, fear and anxiety over many things in your life. Are you out of the flow? Learn how to get back in it… Connect on a higher level A daily practice with some way to connect on a spiritual level to tap into creation energy works wonders as it helps you to let go and trust in something larger than yourself. (Read my daily practice article for more tips) Practice gratitude Gratitude goes hand-in-hand with being in the flow. Be mindful of all that you have and give thanks! It doesn’t hurt to show your appreciation to others that bring happiness and support to your life, too. Realize you can’t control everything There’s no way to plan or manipulate every single second of your life. You don’t have a magic crystal ball helping you to foresee every potential issue or problem that might arise with your plans. Accepting that things are out of your control and having the confidence that you’ll be able to navigate the unexpected is the quickest way to get back and to stay in the flow moving forward. Accept that you can’t control others Just like you cannot manipulate your life, you sure as heck can’t manipulate others (not without some bad karma). Keep in mind that there might be certain situations that arise where someone else’s behavior could effect you. It’s how you respond versus react to the situation that can make all the difference. You can’t control others, but you can control your own actions. Let go of the perfectionism Everything in life is imperfect. It would be nice if everything happened just as you imagined or dreamed it would, but that rarely happens. You don’t have to let go of all your goals or ideas, but be open to the possibilities. Remember the creation energy that wants to nurture us and help us achieve our potential? Things seem to have a way of working out as they should and it could be better than you even imagined! Look at the big picture Putting things into perspective can be a great tool for getting you in the flow. Whenever things are not going as you would like, take a step back and look at the possible outcomes. Look for the silver lining Worst case scenario, things don’t go as planned. The big takeaway is not to look at what did or didn’t happen, but to why it happened and what you may be able to learn or take away from the situation. My interpretation of the flow I envision the flow like as a small river with a lush and pebble strewn bank on either side. It is curvy and varies in width. Sometimes it has quick moving water and obstacles dotted here and there. You are provided with a sturdy canoe or kayak and all you need for your safe travels. The ride is what you make of it. You can go with the natural flow of the water, trusting that you will be fully supported and you will get through any turbulence unobstructed. Or you can choose to panic out of fear and grab hold of the roots at the side of the bank or dock your craft and refuse to move forward. Any way you slice it, you are going to continue down the river until this lifetime is over. The choice is up to you how you plan to travel in the flow…with ease or with trepidation. Is your subconscious mind your worst enemy? If you’re still having issues getting into or staying in the flow, there could be other self-limiting beliefs, thoughts, emotions or misdirected intentions blocking you. I’m offering a 30-minute guided journey to uncover and remove the blocks that could be impeding your flow. I hope you'll join me! Comments are closed.
