I talk about using the lunar phases to assist in your life and transformational business. The full moon is a perfect time to review your intentions and clip away what is not serving you. Be it some intentions you set at the new moon or anything else in life you are ready to release, such as bad habits, unhealthy relationships, old wounds or a client that doesn't value you and your time.
I don't typically talk about the lunar cycle's current monthly phases. Still, after reading about Thursday's full moon in Leo (January 28-29, 2021), I feel compelled to share a little about what I've learned and how using my full moon clipping process might be enhanced with these energies. The fiery Leo full moon energy calls for us to let go of old ways of being and putting to death what no longer serves. I invite you to do the full moon clipping practice below and read on as I share the insights I had around this powerful time of the month and lunar cycle. Okay, I get it! The pressure to get something up on social media is almost unbearable at times. In today’s world, if you are not posting every day across all channels, you feel like your ideal soul clients are going to miss you or you’re going to miss out on them.
But what if I told you that you could be doing more harm than good by throwing that random quote up? Because let’s face it, that’s exactly what it is…RANDOM! And the first thing your prospective client is going to think is “What does this have to do with me?”. Oh and if you are not creating your own social media posts and content, you’d be better off not posting at all...period. Being a woo-woo entrepreneur myself, it makes sense to incorporate the cycles of the moon into my business planning and every day life. Each phase of the moon has a specific purpose that nurtures your monthly intentions and can enhance your goal-planning.
Create goals worth striving for A goal is an observable and measurable end result that you intend to achieve or accomplish typically within a certain amount of time. Goals help you to focus your energy, form plans, feel a sense of accomplishment and live a purposeful life. Goals based on your core values - your meaningful beliefs - are powerful and serve as an anchor, provide a greater sense of purpose and are a source of motivation that can propel you forward. I have a woo-woo entrepreneur friend that would love to hire someone to do her website, but at the moment she cannot afford to do so. Though she’s not trained in website design, she makes it work. Recently she decided to change platforms and totally started from scratch on a new website.
Let me tell you, she was not amused with her accomplishments. Why? Website design is not remotely related to her current business platform. Out of necessity, she has taught herself how to manage WordPress and this new platform. Not only is this the farthest thing from her mind, but it took her a couple weeks to set up the site on a drag and drop platform. Bottom line, she was utterly exhausted. She asked me as a comparison how long it took for me to set up a website for my clients. I carefully explained that though I have a lot of experience setting up websites, I pointed out that having a website design is just one piece in the bigger picture of a business brand. Without the branding, it would take me double or triple the amount of time to set up! Anyone with enough tenacity to tackle their way through all the ins and outs of a website builder can set up a website, especially with the innovations in drag and drop platforms. But the bigger question to ask is... I recently received a call from a prospective client who was in need of branding assistance and a website rebrand. During the follow up call, she explained that she had went with a web design company that was now holding her website hostage. Not only that, but the fee to get the site released was not going to be cheap.
I do not hold any design or website hostage. Why? In the most simplest terms, I believe in transparency and free will. I do not want to hold anything hostage and definitely not for a fee when my client has already paid me for the designs and set up. I believe it’s their right to go with another designer if they believe they are a better energetic fit. Also, I want my clients to become educated in the software applications in order to handle their own updates if they decide to do so even if I provide maintenance services. So, when I heard what this lady was going through, it got me wondering if other transformational entrepreneurs were experiencing this exploitation. What I have found out is disturbing. It happens every day. Why? There’s a few reasons. Designers want to keep their clients so they resort to questionable tactics and business owners can be too trusting and are not asking the right questions. |
