Being a woo-woo entrepreneur myself, it makes sense to incorporate the cycles of the moon into my business planning and every day life. Each phase of the moon has a specific purpose that nurtures your monthly intentions and can enhance your goal-planning.
Create goals worth striving for A goal is an observable and measurable end result that you intend to achieve or accomplish typically within a certain amount of time. Goals help you to focus your energy, form plans, feel a sense of accomplishment and live a purposeful life. Goals based on your core values - your meaningful beliefs - are powerful and serve as an anchor, provide a greater sense of purpose and are a source of motivation that can propel you forward. I have a woo-woo entrepreneur friend that would love to hire someone to do her website, but at the moment she cannot afford to do so. Though she’s not trained in website design, she makes it work. Recently she decided to change platforms and totally started from scratch on a new website.
Let me tell you, she was not amused with her accomplishments. Why? Website design is not remotely related to her current business platform. Out of necessity, she has taught herself how to manage WordPress and this new platform. Not only is this the farthest thing from her mind, but it took her a couple weeks to set up the site on a drag and drop platform. Bottom line, she was utterly exhausted. She asked me as a comparison how long it took for me to set up a website for my clients. I carefully explained that though I have a lot of experience setting up websites, I pointed out that having a website design is just one piece in the bigger picture of a business brand. Without the branding, it would take me double or triple the amount of time to set up! Anyone with enough tenacity to tackle their way through all the ins and outs of a website builder can set up a website, especially with the innovations in drag and drop platforms. But the bigger question to ask is... I’ve shared recently how I maintain a healthy outlook. (Catch it here if you missed it) Not only is creating a daily routine essential for my mental, emotional and spiritual well-being, it’s also crucial for maintaining a balance with my business. Writing that article got me thinking about the importance of living in the flow of life.
What is the flow? We are surrounded by creation energy that wants to nurture us and help us achieve our potential. The creation energy is the FLOW. When we are thriving in this nurtured and creative environment, we have a feeling of safety and security in all things. When all is going well, we are “in the flow”. In order to live an authentic, fulfilled life we need to feel supported and trust in that support. How we perceive that support is directly connected to the emotions and beliefs going on inside of us and what's going on around us. Because of the link with emotions and trust, it’s very easy to get into the flow or get out of it. Your transformational business needs to be maintained in order to keep it running. Because you are the driver of your business, you too need daily maintenance in order to stay on the road to success. One way to do that is to create a daily routine.
I set aside some time every morning (yes, even the weekends) for my personal and business growth. Since implementing this practice I’ve seen success in all aspects of my life, so I’d really like to share it with you. There are a few things you need to do in order to prep for this practice, so let’s start here... For many woo-woo at heart transformational entrepreneurs, spending money on a professional brand may seem like a leap when they are starting out or even when they are already established online. There are many online businesses offer services that make it seem easy to go it on your own.
Don’t get me wrong, a lot of the online free and low-cost design and website services have some major value and even pack some punch. But if you don’t know what you’re doing, you’re wasting a lot of time and energy you could be spending on more important items that will get your business on the road. |
